My Story
My name is Nikki, and I’ve loved art for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a family surrounded by dogs, I quickly learned how deeply pets become part of our lives—they’re companions, confidants, and members of the family. That connection has always inspired me to capture the unique spirit of each animal I meet, translating their personality and essence onto paper.
I’m a mum to two wonderful children, aged 7 and 10, and I also work full time. Drawing has become my happy place—a space where I can pause, focus, and pour care and attention into creating something truly special. Around two years ago, I began taking professional commissions for pet portraits, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to help other pet owners celebrate the bond they share with their companions.
Each portrait I create is thoughtfully hand-drawn, layer by layer, in charcoal. I love capturing the small details—the tilt of a head, the shine in a dog’s eyes, or the softness of their fur—that make each animal completely unique.
